North Harris Harris Destination Imagination

Appraisers and Volunteers

DI NEEDS YOU!!
DI isn’t possible without volunteers. Can you help?

If you are interested in volunteering or appraising, contact a board member or your school team manager.

There are many ways that you can be involved in Destination Imagination in the North Harris region. We depend on volunteers in order to run trainings, workshops and the tournament. Please consider helping.

Appraisers
Appraisers make up the base of our volunteers, and truly make the tournament possible. They get to experience the excitement and creativity of DI up close and personal. Their job is to award teams every point they are entitled to by their solution presentation. Appraisers must attend one (1) training session:
  • Thursday, Jan.23, 5:30-8:30pm - Tomball Event Center (20235 Cypress Rosehill Rd., Tomball, TX 77377)
  • Saturday, Feb. 1, 8:30-11:30am - Northampton Elementary School (6404 Root Road, Klein, TX 77389)
Appraisers must work at the Regional Tournament on February 22,2025

Every team is required to provide two (2) Appraisers.
NEW APPRAISERS
  1. Create an account at DI: Resources.
  2. Go to this site to register to appraise or use the link provided by the Team Manager.

Appraiser registration is linked to the Team's Number; be sure to confirm that information when registering.
RETURNING APPRAISERS
  1. Confirm your account is still active at DI: Resources.
  2. Go to this site to register to appraise or use the link provided by the Team Manager.

Appraiser registration is linked to the Team's Number; be sure to confirm that information when registering.

Tournament Volunteers
If you can’t be an Appraiser, consider being a Tournament volunteer.  Volunteers take care of a multitude of tasks at the tournament. We need volunteers to monitor doors, deliver food and snacks to appraisers, sell concessions, work a photo booth, etc. Parents of team members can volunteer to help and will work a 2 hour shift. Parents of participants should support the program by working a shift. The shift will be scheduled around your child's challenge solution presentation.

Sign up link will be provided in January!

Sponsor
If you would like to become a sponsor of Destination Imagination, please contact the Regional Director.  Sponsorships help us keep our tournament fees low and make the program available to more people.

Trainer
We need trainers to lead Team Member workshops.  The number of sessions that we can offer is limited by the number of people we have training.  If you are a "retired" team manager, please consider joining with us to lead training sessions.  If you have special skills (carpentry, electronics, dance, theater, mechanical, etc.), you can help us develop workshops for team members.  Contact the Regional Director if you are interested in becoming a trainer.

Alumni
Just because you are no longer competing doesn't mean that you can't stay involved with Destination Imagination.  Because you have experience from the Team's perspective you can bring things to the table that other's can't.  Sign up to be an Appraiser.  Help with Training.  Become a Board Member and help run the tournament.  You may also want to consider joining the DI Alumni Association.
